The OPTIFAST four-week Intermittent Fasting 5:2 Plan is an eating pattern that cycles between periods of fasting and eating. 5:2 Plan means that you will alternate five feast days with two fast days. Ideally, your feast days will be consecutive.

It’s been proven to help lose weight fast, get into ketosis quickly and lower blood sugar levels. Rather than specify which foods you should eat, it specifies when you should eat them.

At the beginning, on fast days, you replace all meals and snacks with three OPTIFAST products (total of 800 calories). On feast days, you eat conventional, minimally processed foods within daily calories that depend on your weight loss goals - usually 1200 for women and 1500 for men. After three months, you increase the calories you consume on feast days, usually 1400 to 1700.
