This warm chicken pitta wrap is a great low-calorie lunch recipe when you’ve got leftover cooked chicken to use.

With just four ingredients and ready in a matter of minutes, this healthy lunch contains fibre from the wholemeal bread, protein from the chicken, crunch from the fresh lettuce, and a kick of heat from the sweet chilli sauce, making it an excellent balanced meal.

Low-Calorie Chicken Pitta Wrap Recipe



  • 1 wholemeal pitta wrap
  • 100 g cooked chicken breast, sliced
  • 50 g lettuce, washed and shredded
  • 1 tbsp sweet chilli sauce


  1. Start by preparing the chicken – take your leftover chicken breast and slice into thin strips.

  2. Next, wash the lettuce, blot any excess water using a kitchen towel, then shred into thin strips.

  3. Spray a non-stick frying pan with low-calorie cooking oil over a medium heat. Place the pitta wrap into the pan and heat for 3 minutes on each side or until it feels soft and has puffed up slightly.

  4. Remove the pan from the heat and slide the pitta wrap onto a plate. Spread the sliced chicken onto the wrap, then add 1 tbsp of sweet chilli sauce and the shredded lettuce. Tip: if there’s too much lettuce to fit in your wrap, enjoy it as a salad alongside your wrap.

  5. Fold the wrap over to contain the filling and serve.
